Eigenaren autowasstraat wachten al maanden op stroomaansluiting - en ze zijn niet de enigen
Car wash owners have been waiting for months for power connection - and they're not the only ones
Een gloednieuwe autowasstraat in de stad-Groninger wijk Reitdiep is al maanden klaar voor gebruik, maar nog steeds niet in bedrijf. Netbeheerder Enexis heeft het zo druk, dat de aansluiting waarschijnlijk nog maanden op zich laat wachten. Tientallen Groningse bedrijven zitten in hetzelfde schuitje.
'We hebben in februari vorig jaar een aansluiting bij Enexis aangevraagd. Toen kregen we te horen dat de wachttijd 52 weken bedroeg', zegt Marc Welvering, één van de eigenaren van Carwash Reitdiep. 'We schrokken, maar we dachten: de bouw is eind december klaar. Dan nog twee maandjes wachten en we kunnen los.' Maar het loopt anders.

A brand-new car wash in the Reitdiep neighborhood of the city of Groningen has been ready for use for months, but it is still not operational. Grid operator Enexis is so busy that the connection will likely take several more months. Dozens of businesses in Groningen are in the same boat.
"We applied for a connection with Enexis in February last year. We were told that the wait time was 52 weeks," says Marc Welvering, one of the owners of Carwash Reitdiep. "We were shocked, but we thought: the construction will be finished by the end of December. Then just two more months of waiting, and we can start." But things turned out differently.
