Energy transition stalls, transport capacity denied due to congestion
The government mandates you to reduce gas usage. Your company has invested in new machines that run on electricity instead of gas. Before starting production, you need a higher-capacity grid connection. However, the network operator denies your request for an upgrade because the electricity grid is already at capacity.
A network operator cannot simply refuse this request. According to the ACM (Congestion Management: Preventing Power Surges | ACM.nl), the operator must efficiently allocate space on the grid (by implementing congestion management).
You can, individually or with other affected parties, investigate whether the network operator has adequately applied congestion management and if the refusal of capacity was justified.
